Poetry Writing Workshop

There is no magic recipe for the question: how to write a good poem? What can be done is to lay out a roadmap, which through various inspiration exercises will help me find my unique voice.

Poems are the ‘art of brevity’ – conveying a feeling, an experience, and even a journey through a short lyrical piece, intended to meet the reader in their world and touch their emotions. What are the things that inspire me? What is important for me to tell other people? Should I write in metaphors and rhymes, or disregard all the rules and just write without any rules?

Yehuda Atlas once said that when he started writing, he made three decisions: to write simply, to write briefly, and to write the truth. Let’s see how it’s done.
