After years of visiting archaeological sites, conducting academic research on symbols, and examining the rituals and beliefs in various Jewish communities, Tal Germiza noticed that the academic study of mythical and biblical women is much richer than the presence of those women in the official scriptures. Since then, she has sought to explore and deepen her academic and artistic research on mythological women, those women who once held a rightful place in cultural heritage, but over the years have been sidelined or blatantly erased.
“Leah Seeks Redemption” is a significant and central pillar in the extensive research project of the poet, creator, and symbolist researcher Tal Germiza, and it presents the fruit of a long journey that is still ongoing and continuing. Engaging with it seeks to ask questions about a past that defines the present, much of which is hidden or has been hidden from us. The book serves as a point of connection between a woman in the twenty-first century and the foundation of her thought culture, which has been shaped over thousands of years.
